Team briefings
Survey after survey, employees say that their preferred source of information – their communication channel of choice – is their line manager. That’s why team briefings (or ‘cascade briefings’) are still the most effective employee engagement channel there is. They allow big issues to be given local meaning and are a platform for discussion and action planning.
But so often they fail to deliver. A major pitfall is briefing materials that are uninspiring or just plain irrelevant to managers and their teams. Or else managers just don’t have the skills or confidence to deliver effective team briefings. In the worst case, briefings simply don’t happen because the centre has lost control of the process.
Axiom's approach
We have a proven record of creating effective team briefing programmes and materials for large organisations.
We work with you to set objectives, define content and create innovative briefing packs (e.g. managers’ brief, visual aids/slides, forms for collating feedback). Often, we’ll look to involve a sample of managers and frontline employees in developing the process and the materials.
We also provide training in communication skills, including our popular Effective Briefings workshop, to equip managers with the skills to run engaging briefings.
When required, we can manage the whole process for you so you can be sure that briefings are happening across the organisation, that people look forward to them and prioritise them in their diaries and that they deliver their objectives.
