Mölnlycke Surgical
Setting sail on video-inspired voyage
For the Surgical division of Swedish medical devices company Mölnlycke, we created a video to communicate strategy to staff worldwide. The video was based on a Big Picture visual analogy we developed for the client that showed their strategy as a sailing voyage around the world.
The video was used in a global communications cascade. Following this, local teams were challenged to create homemade videos, using their own phones or camcorders, to show how they were executing the strategy in their part of the business and using the sailing analogy as their theme.

The overall winners: a team from Thailand.
The best videos were published on the intranet to help spread best practice and the teams who made them were awarded prizes. The overall winners were rewarded with a trip to Sweden where they met the board at Mölnlycke’s head office in Gothenburg and learned to sail an ocean-going yacht – just like the one featured in the Big Picture.
The competition encouraged global engagement from Mölnlycke people on an unprecedented scale.
